I think it would be wise to be very careful when approving of murder, even when it is for those despicable humans who we deem most deserving of it, that is exactly when we must uphold our principles the most. I'm talking about the mass murderer's, rapists, terrorists, child abusers and psychopaths. Because if we do not take an enlightened and principled approach, the same reasoning can always be manipulated by those in power to do their will, "we must torture or kill these people because they are terrorists, because they have done evil things". Regardless of whether or not your narrative is true, if you leave the door open just a foothold it allows for all of the death and destruction made possible by anyone who can paint a story, not just logically and rationally, but on a psychological level, if you can convince people that this situation is different, this threat is unlike all the ones before it, now it is imperative that we treat these people as lesser humans, because they are in some manner different, then that murderous will can be directed at any group of people or anyone with nothing more than a retelling of the story.

I'm not urging you to shed a tear for the death of mass murderers, but let's not embrace that very same naivety present in so many of them in believing that our moral compass alone, inflicted on all others is enough to make the world a better place. Besides, whilst it may not be as emotionally satisfying in the short term, would it not be a great representation of our species if we treated even the most despicable of our enemies as human beings with inalienable rights.

It is because I believe that people should take their principles seriously and act upon them that we should not leave room for abuses.
